Home Projects Our projects Large-Scale Subsurface Drip Irrigation Project in Hungary
Project details:
  • Country: Hungary
  • Crops: Corn
  • Irrigation Type: SDI (Sub-surface drip irrigation)
  • Size (ha): 110
Project summary:

Poliext recently completed a significant subsurface drip irrigation (SDI) installation on 110 hectares of cornfields in Hungary. This project showcases the successful application of our new SDI Dripline T-500 in large-scale farming.

The goal:

The primary goals of this SDI installation were to improve water use efficiency, enhance crop yields, and provide a more sustainable irrigation solution for the cornfields. The Poliext T-500, with its pressure compensation and anti-siphon features, was chosen for its ability to deliver consistent water distribution even across uneven terrain. The project's success marks a significant milestone for Poliext in the SDI market, demonstrating the effectiveness of our technology in large-scale agricultural settings. The project highlights the potential of precision irrigation to improve water use efficiency and increase crop yields in large-scale farming operations.

Project solution:

The SDI system utilizes the Poliext T-500 dripline, available in various wall thicknesses (0.65mm - 1.2mm) and flow rates (0.65 l/h - 3.5 l/h) to optimize water delivery based on specific crop needs. The T-500's design ensures efficient and uniform water distribution, minimizing water waste and maximizing crop yields . The project's scale demonstrates the T-500's suitability for large-scale agricultural operations.
